A "licensed professional counselor supervisor" is a person engaged in the practice of counseling who holds a license as a licensed professional counselor and is approved by the Board to provide clinical supervision to LCMHCAs. The LCMHCS license is an independent, unrestricted license. This license supersedes the LCMHC license. Once approved for licensure the license number will be the same license number with an S at the beginning (Example: S000).
Applicants must complete all requirements before credential can be issued. (G.S. § 90-336 and Rule .0801)
NCBLCMHC is pleased to offer both an electronic and paper application process. Although, applicants can still mail a paper application, we encourage applicants to utilize the online application process to save money on postage, ensure your application is received, and to decrease the initial application processing time. Please expect an additional 2-3 weeks processing time for paper applications. If you would like to apply by paper, you are welcome to print and mail the paper application.
